Selenis is the specialty polyester engine of the IMG Group's Everbio Innovation Hub. Through a combination of deep polymer science, industrial-scale capabilities and strategic partnerships, we develop future-fit materials that make circularity real, from bio-based resins to advanced recycled solutions.
With over 60 years of expertise in polymer chemistry, Selenis sits at the intersection of materials science and industrial sustainability. As part of IMG Group's Everbio Innovation Hub, supported by the Portuguese Government, we channel R&D investment into specialty copolyesters that respond to the real demands of our customers and the planet.
Our production sites in Portugal and Italy, combined with our global partnership network, allow us to move from lab-scale development to industrial reality at speed.

Selenis' innovation activity is fully integrated into Everbio Innovation Hub, the IMG Group's centralised engine for circular materials. Located at our industrial site in Portugal, Everbio Innovation Hub connects Selenis and the wider Group, enabling shared infrastructure, joint R&D and faster commercialisation of breakthrough solutions.
Texnascis™ is Selenis' dedicated platform for textile-to-textile circularity, transforming post-consumer textile waste into high-quality specialty polyester resins. Unlike bottle-to-fiber recycling, Texnascis™ enables true textile-to-textile circularity: a value chain where the lifecycle of every fiber is genuinely infinite.

Texnascis™ receives recycled monomers, including rPTA, rMEG, rBHET and rDMT, from chemical recycling processes. In our R&D facilities across Portugal, Italy, Tunisia and the USA, we refine their quality and performance through small-scale polymerisation and rigorous testing, building the formulation foundation for consistent, scalable production.
Validated formulations move to our industrial plant in Portugal, where pilot and large-batch campaigns convert upgraded recycled monomers into high-quality PET polymers ready for fiber spinning. Every step is designed to bridge lab precision with industrial reliability.
We work with recyclers and brand partners through three models: upstream (recyclers send feedstock; we handle polymerisation), downstream (we co-locate our process inside a partner's facility), or tolling (we process feedstock under agreed terms and return upgraded polymers). This flexibility significantly lowers CAPEX and OPEX barriers for partners seeking to scale sustainably without building new infrastructure.
Selenis combines in-house polymer expertise with state-of-the-art polymerisation capabilities across its sites in Portugal and Italy. Our R&D teams work closely with customers to co-develop bespoke formulations, from healthcare to cosmetics, textile to 3D printing, that consistently deliver on performance and sustainability.
Through flexible collaboration models, including co-location and tolling, we help partners scale breakthrough innovations into market-ready products.
